8 Mindoro, WI Mindoro, WI Part-time Full-time Part-time Full-time $550 a week $550 a week Position Summary The Assistant Summer Camp Director provides direction, supervision, leadership, and support to camp staff and assists in the administration and management of overall summer camp operations and programs.
Share your knowledge and expertise as you lead our camp staff in providing fun and memorable adventures this summer! Dates of Employment May 28th, 2024 to August 9th, 2024 (earlier start and later end dates are possible upon request) Compensation $550 weekly salary (includes room and board) $500 end of season bonus if fully worked through the position dates of employment $300 early sign-on bonus (offer letter signed by March 15th, 2024) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assume responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence.
Provide support and resources for Staff members.
Assist with training and supervision of staff.
Assist in the planning, directing and supervising of all camp programs.
Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff training.
Ensure staff morale by monitoring that individual needs are met (rest, time off), and by coordinating group recreational activities with administrative staff.
Provide programming and supervisory resources and support for administrative and other staff members, as needed.
Evaluate the need for, prepare, and conduct in-service staff training throughout the summer.
Interpret, enforce and teach state, American Camp Association, and Girl Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints and standards.
Implement and monitor that all health, safety, and program standards are being met.
Update materials for ACA Accreditation compliance, ensure standards are being met throughout the summer, and assist with any potential visits.
Interpret the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, and guide staff in putting it into practice.
Comprehend, monitor, and be willing to initiate crisis management plans and overall safety, including emergency procedures.
Prepare, review and submit records and requested reports on time.
Pull camper and parent surveys and develop follow-up action with Director.
Respond to parent phone calls and emails including Salesforce cases.
Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning of the Camp.
Assist the Camp Director in developing routines, schedules, procedures, and budgets, as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements Experience in teaching, guiding and working with children.
Ability to schedule, lead, and supervise staff.
Passionate about creating and supporting diverse, equitable, and inclusive spaces in the Girl Scout community.
Strong intercultural communication skills; value diverse thoughts and perspectives and the positive outcomes when all voices are heard.
Ability to make decisions and act wisely and calmly in emergencies.
Willingness to subscribe to the philosophy of the Girl Scout program and enroll as a Girl Scout member.
At least 21 years of age.
Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Comfort and ability to live, sleep, and work irregular hours in a rustic outdoor environment and through possible irregular weather conditions.
Physical demands and work environment regularly requires the employee to walk, hike, and work outdoors in wooded areas and on uneven natural paths.
